WealthOrHealth Dev Blog #2
I made it to another blog update. Wow.
Progress Highlights
Generated Criteria: The criteria system is significantly more robust than it used to be. Even testing the game I'm coming across interesting and different combinations. It's starting to feel like a real puzzle game.
The Terminal: One storyline in the game requires players to "hack" the system. It's been fun creating the necessary tools for this to happen. I've even considered using the actual browser console. I think that could be a little freaky for some players as well as not porting well to a standalone build.
Speaking of standalone: I've been playing with a fun open source tech called Tauri. From my small amount of testing I've found it to be awesome. The builds are smaller, faster and more stable than electron. I love that it's open source and uses the OS's web renderer.
Art: Meow meow meow. Psst psst psst. Hisss.
What's Next
Animation System: I'm almost at a point of tying all the art assets together and creating a working system.
Main Menu: Looking forward to implementing this. It will be another step towards this feeling like a real game.
Item Shop: The game does get difficult very fast. I want to introduce items to dampen the difficulty curve. If the player can afford it...
