WealthOrHealth Dev Blog #4
I've watched my joy for this project set as the sun does. At first it was brilliant and overhead, blatant and blinding. Its heat was my religious fervour. Gradually it retreated for the horizon. Its journey so lazy I barely registered. The shadows it cast grew longer and the colours more honest.
No longer does its radiation tickle my testies.
Night has come and with it a negligence for work. The fatigue of business unfinished. But when I look up I see stars calmly waiting. They shine with assurance and remind me that the discipline of the universe endures, unconcerned for indie developers.
Once more the sun shall rise and radiate my testies. Patience.
Progress Highlights
New Cutscene: I gave myself a time scope of one week to create a new cutscene that could be used to tell multiple stories. Not a lot of time given I'm working 40 hours a week and spend another 9 running. This is the best I could do.
Cutscene Integration: To be honest most of the work has been on this. I finished polishing the cutscenes in the animator tool. I created a pipeline to export them and integrate them into the game itself. Then built the logic to have them run at the correct times.
It's been long and hard and not very fun and that's all I want to say about it.
What's Next
Bug Bash: I've been neglecting the game itself. Introducing cutscenes has created bugs and made existing ones more ghoulish.
The Shop: What motivation does the player have to make money if they can't buy anything cool?
